Windy Day River Check

The river can look calm from far away and feel different once you are close to the water. Wind made me understand why checking conditions matters before treating the day like any other park visit.

I used to think weather checks were only about cancellation. On the river, comfort also mattered, because wind can change how relaxed a first-time visitor feels during the activity.

A windy day did not mean the whole plan had to fail. It just meant the timing, activity mood, and after-plan needed a little more flexibility.
